PAINTINGS OF WOMEN WHO INSPIRE SERIES
ALEXA PONOMAREFF
Watercolor and Soft-Pastel
My dearest friend Alexa passed away last year from a short battle with cancer. She was such an amazing kind woman, gentle, beautiful and the best listener. She never judged me and all my “crazy” and always made me feel special and able to do anything I wanted. She encouraged me to care for my body by eating good nutritious food, care for the earth and all the beings on it. She encouraged me with my creative process and purchased one of my favorite watercolor paintings “La Vague Montageuse”. Alexa was a magickal sweet woman, every visit at her home was a blessing. I will never forget the time we spent together talking, laughing and just being silent together in nature. She loved this quote from Rumi; “Let the beauty we love be what we do”, as I write these tears are rolling down my face because I miss you my sweet friend. May your sweet spirit visit me in my dreams.
